Free gamebooks

So, you fancy reading some gamebooks? Well thanks to the internet, and the creativity of the people on it, there are plenty of free ones out there.  I have written several, which you can look at on this page.  As well as gamebooks, you can also download some Advanced Fighting Fantasy materials.  However, maybe your thirst for gamebooks is not satiated by me creations.  Where can you go?  Here is a list.

www.projectaon.org - This has ALL of Joe Dever's works for free.  That includes all of Lone Wolf, Greystar and the rest.  That will keep you occupied for a long time.

www.ffproject.org - A collection of fan made Fighting Fantasy books, some of which can be played online.

The official Fighting Fantasy site also has amateur adventures

www.fightingfantazine.co.uk/ - Each issue of this awesome fanzine has a gamebook in it in addition to a lot of other great stuff.

www.arborell.com - This also holds tons of free gamebooks.  As well as the Windhammer gamebooks, it also holds every entry to the Windhammer competition.

www.chooseyourstory.com - Contains hundred of storygames to cater for every taste.

There are plenty of free downloads in the various gamebook Yahoo groups

EDIT - The Choose Your Own Adventure Wiki - I can't believe I forgot this.  Contains hundreds of gamebooks in hyperlinked wiki page format.

Brass Lantern - this is an interactive fiction website where there are many games to play.

Interactive Fiction Database - does exactly what it says on the tin.  A massive database of interactive fiction games.

http://textadventures.co.uk/ - Another website that does what it says.  That is offer lots of text adventures.

https://www.silkwords.com/ - contains interactive stories in the romance genre.

These ones are to start you off, as they contain the biggest concentrations of free gamebooks on the internet.  There are many many more with a little searching.
